Story line
Susan Cooper is an unassuming, deskbound CIA analyst, and the unsung hero behind the Agency's most dangerous missions. But when her partner falls off the grid and another top agent is compromised, she volunteers to go deep undercover to infiltrate the world of a deadly arms dealer, and prevent a global crisis.

As a fan of Paul Feig other films such as bridesmaids and The Heat which both feature Melissa McCarthy, I was excited at the premise and cast of Spy.
The large cast of Spy works impressively from Melissa's witty, fumbling "Susan Cooper", Jude Law's egotistical "Bradley Fine", Rose Byrne's uptight villainous "Rayna", and Jason Statham's hilarious, over the top "Rick Ford".
Spy's genre is action, comedy and it does both brilliantly. The action set pieces are put together with style and many of the more intense, up close action sequences feel extremely fluid. The knife fight were "Coop" tries to fend off an enemy by use of various kitchen equipment is funny and very impressive to watch.
The comedic aspect of this film is also perfectly captured through character dialogue and visual gags, the cast chemistry also adds to some truly laugh out loud moments.
Statham's "Rick Ford" proved one of my favorite characters. His crazy tales are used to improve upon his super spy status and are gut wrenching throughout as he always seems to pop up to ruin Susan's plans.
As for negatives with Spy other than Rose Byrne's character "Rayna" the villains are very one note and quite forgettable. Also the plot gets a little too convoluted towards the end and the few twists are extremely cliché.
Overall I had a very enjoyable time watching Spy and at times it had me bursting out with laughter. I am going to give Spy a 8/10.
